DATED FIGURES / DOCUMENTED SOURCES
Every number.
A human life.
The aggregate casualty shirts use figures published by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS). The Hind Rajab design uses the joint Forensic Architecture, Earshot and Fault Lines investigation. The reconstruction and history shirts use the additional sources below. The source and release date accompany the artwork. The QR codes open the cited source.
01 / 1,029 INFANTS
Killed before their first birthday.
PCBS’s April 5, 2026 release lists 1,029 children killed in Gaza before age one. Its age-group chart is labelled through December 31, 2025.

Killed in Gaza.
Every one a life.
The same April 5, 2026 PCBS release gives a count of 21,283 children killed in Gaza.

The source discusses different cutoff dates; the artwork identifies the release date and the infant age-data cutoff rather than presenting every breakdown as current to today. Permanent design links are retained when the artwork is updated.
Source checked October 30, 2026. Physical garment QR scan and wash testing remain required.
03 / $71.4 BILLION
Recovery and reconstruction.
The joint UN, EU and World Bank assessment released April 20, 2026 estimates Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction needs at $71.4 billion over ten years. The shirt preserves the estimate, time horizon and assessment date.

04 / 144 YEARS AND COUNTING
1882–2026.
Two Oslo accords.
1882 is a conventional starting year for the First Aliyah. The calendar-year difference to 2026 is 144. This does not date the first Jewish presence in Palestine or claim an identifiable first Zionist settler.
The number two refers specifically to Oslo I (1993) and Oslo II (1995). These were interim arrangements; the word “peace” in quotation marks is the shirt’s political criticism. It is not an official classification of forged treaties or a count of every agreement in the conflict.

05 / HIND RAJAB
335 bullet holes in the car.
Six relatives killed alongside Hind.
The joint Forensic Architecture, Earshot and Al Jazeera Fault Lines investigation mapped 335 bullet entry holes in the family car. This is a count of holes in the vehicle, not wounds to Hind’s body. Forensic Architecture identifies the six relatives killed with Hind as her four cousins, her aunt and uncle: seven family deaths including Hind.
The shirt’s “human shield, right?” question is political sarcasm. It does not establish or allege that Hind was used as a human shield.

06 / CAVE OF THE PATRIARCHS MASSACRE
29 Muslims murdered in a mosque.
On 25 February 1994, Baruch Goldstein murdered 29 Muslim worshippers in Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque, within the Cave of the Patriarchs. The 29 count concerns those killed inside the mosque, rather than deaths in the subsequent unrest.
Associated Press correspondent Karin Laub’s 14 February 1995 account describes the tombstone inscription in English as: “Clean of hands, clean of heart, he died as a martyr.” This is the article’s English rendering of the inscription, not an endorsement. Other English translations differ in wording.

07 / THE NAKBA
Long before October 7th.
The design uses rounded historical estimates for the Nakba of 1947–1949. A PCBS 59th-anniversary report carried by WAFA estimates approximately 750,000 Palestinians expelled. PCBS’s 74th-anniversary bulletin lists 531 destroyed Palestinian towns and villages and more than 15,000 killed. The shirt rounds those last two figures to 530 and 15,000 and labels the figures as historical estimates.
PCBS’s later bulletin uses a higher displacement estimate of 800,000. The source dates and differing estimates are retained here rather than presenting these as exact individual counts. The closing line is the design’s political framing of the longer history before 1948.

08 / IMAN AL-HAMS
Imagine an American schoolgirl.
Iman was Palestinian; the American comparison is hypothetical. She was killed in Rafah on 5 October 2004. Her doctor’s account supports a minimum of 17 bullet wounds in total. This does not establish separate counts before and after death.
Witnesses alleged additional firing into her body. The captain disputed that account. A military court acquitted him of all charges on 15 November 2005; key soldiers had withdrawn their testimony. The shirt attributes the further-firing account to witnesses and does not present a verified postmortem shot count.

09 / RACHEL CORRIE
Activist wearing bright orange.
On 16 March 2003 in Rafah, a military bulldozer killed Rachel Corrie, 23, during her effort to prevent a Palestinian family’s home from being demolished. Amnesty International documents her fluorescent orange vest and criticizes the failure to hold anyone accountable.
The design’s word “murdered” expresses its condemnation and the eyewitness account of intentional killing. It is not a criminal verdict. The Israeli court found the death accidental and rejected the civil claim against the state; Amnesty condemned that outcome. Photographs document the day, but this design does not claim that the fatal impact was filmed.
The printed shirtsagainstgenocide.dev address is proposed and not connected by this project. It must be connected before these garments are printed. The general back QR continues to open the current live site.
